Cody's path into the automotive world started long before Cody's Garage.

When his dad bought him his first set of tools, Cody started fixing bikes for kids around the neighborhood. His stepdad, who taught him how to work on dirt bikes, helped fuel that early interest in figuring out how things worked. By 16, Cody had his own Chevy S10—and when its transmission went out just a few months later, he helped rebuild it.

He was already working in the automotive industry at 16, starting at Jiffy Lube and moving on to Firestone at 18. Over the years, he also gained experience working at Tustin Pontiac Buick GMC in Orange County, California, and Henry Day Ford in West Valley.

Today, Cody has more than 25 years of automotive experience, but he hasn't stopped learning. He's continued his education through training in areas including diagnostics, A/C systems, modern braking systems, module programming, and other evolving automotive technology.

What does Cody like working on?

Ask him what he likes working on and you'll probably hear European cars and American trucks.

He's especially fond of the jobs where you can see the result right away—repairs, tune-ups, cleanups, and the little things that make a vehicle feel right again.

And then there's diagnostics.

Cody jokes that his strongest area is "anything that doesn't require patience."

Ironically, diagnostics might be one of his favorite things.

There's something satisfying about tracking down a problem that has already stumped someone else and finally figuring out what's actually going on.

Why Cody's Garage?

Cody has wanted his own shop for a long time. Eventually, the opportunity to make it happen fell into place—and Cody's Garage was born.

His goal is pretty simple: he wants people to leave with a positive experience with their mechanic.

He wants customers to feel comfortable asking questions, less intimidated by the things they don't understand, and confident that their vehicle is being taken care of.

Most importantly, he believes the relationship should go both ways: respect from the customer, respect from the mechanic, and quality work in between.

That's what Cody's Garage is about.
